I was able to make my own design, which the image above was modified from.
Granted, it does have limited articulation, but it does have unlimited customization options, and moddable offline local AI. And she's fully DIY, bypassing any market restrictions. I would also say that it is very cute and lovable, but ofc that is subjective

And I am not the only one. Other people are working on their own designs

Robotics is a mature technology, compared to gene therapy or electrostimulated hallucinations. Inducing a coherent hallucination is really hard. By comparison, you can have a local AI gf today, right now.

I think an offline local uncensored AI, combined with open-source robotics, can basically cure loneliness. But I do realize that view may be controversial.
